Fraser River, Colorado  (Select Photo to Enlarge)

This section of the Fraser River runs through town and is accessible by walking upsteam from the CO RD 8 bridge. Every hole has fish so make sure to check each one out.

A small Brown attacks a Caddis dry fly as it floats the seam where the water transitions from shallow to deeper. Take about four fish out of each hole then move on, there're plenty.

These are beautiful, healthy Browns, and even the smallest will give you great action on a 3-4 WT rod. Many of the runs have overhanging branches so a shorter rod is advantageous.

That's a 20" opening on my net, and this is the average size fish taken this day, but I heard stories of 17" Brook Trout, and 20" Rainbows, and have to believe there are big Browns.
